Easter is a time of new life emerging and for us it always means that spending more time in the garden is no longer a dream, we can actually get out there and enjoy it!
When we were down in Devon last week we visited Rosemoor RHS gardens. The gardens were passing from winter through into spring. We enjoyed our visit and came away inspired with so many ideas for both seasons that we can't wait to try in our garden.
These miniature daffodils looked so lovely- I would never have planted this many in one pot but the mass planting was so impressive and an easy idea to copy.
The pond was also a mass of yellow and green and the dogwoods below were so eye catching ......
We also discovered another dogwood below called "Winter Beauty", it didn't come out very well in the photo but it's colour was incredible going from yellow through to orange with a tint of red at it's tips.
We picked up so many ideas of what to plant under the roses, although our tiny rose border will never look as grand as this!
It was also good to get ideas for vegetables and varieties that will survive the winter - this spinach looked so healthy.
We woke up this morning (Good Friday) to rain and mist. It didn't stop me however, from going to the bakers and picking up these hot cross buns - they were huge and very tasty. It has always been a family tradition to eat them for breakfast on Good Friday. What Easter traditions do you follow?
